By now many of you would have received your membership subscription invoice. Thank you to those who have already paid, that really helps!
As many of you might be aware, we have had a series of extremely lean years at CIfA, resulting in budget cuts, reductions in staff salaries, as well as reductions in rental space.
Our decision to withdraw from SAIA was governed, amongst other reasons, by the state of our finances. 2024 Celebrations of 125 years of being in existence were put on the backburner to focus on staying afloat.
Coupled with inflation and other financial considerations we are raising our membership fees in order to break even and continue with all the necessary functions of the institute on your behalf. We have raised most fees for each category by 10% and then rounded the numbers off to keep numbers whole and simple.
The Professional Architect category has also increased due to CIfA re-joining SAIA. The SAIA portion of the fees is R1,437.50 including VAT. The full CIfA 2025/2026 Membership Fees Structure can be downloaded here.
If you have an issue with payment of your fees, please contact our office and speak either to Asa or Soraya. They will advise on monthly payment plans, etc., to help and reduce the impact.
