Dear CIfA, SAACPP and UDISA members
We want to thank you for your continued patience as we address the issues being experienced by users on our new DAMS system. We acknowledge the impact it has had on the industry and want to assure you that every concern and challenge raised is recorded and that our technical team is working around the clock to iron out these issues.
Building Development Management
Since Monday, 13 March 2023, 3 444 building plan applications were created in the new portal (including duplicates from resubmissions made in error)and 1 441 of these reflect an ‘awaiting payment’ status. This number grows daily.
Land Use Management
1 237 Land Use applications were created since Monday, 13 March 2023 (including duplicates from resubmissions made in error), and 676 of these reflect an ‘awaiting payment’ status. As with the building plan applications, this number is growing daily.
Despite the system glitches experienced in our first two weeks since the launch of the new DAMS, the application numbers as indicated above have grown steadily. We promised to keep you informed of the issues as they are resolved, and the following progress has been made:
• Improved search functionality on property ownership history
• Improvement to the naming of documents for upload
• A pop-up notification has been added on the system for completing an application
• Request for copies of plans now includes legacy/historical documents
