Dear Members
Please see the attached advert from HWC. They are looking for young practitioners/ graduates who can cope with a very rigorous six-month contract. There is really no better way to kick-start a heritage career than to take this opportunity. For someone who doesn’t want a career limited to heritage, but would be interested in a being a broad-minded operator this is a fabulous opportunity.
What is required is for a company registered on the data base to second a staff member to HWC.
With the current downturn, many of you have staff that you do want to keep in your practice, in spite of workload contraction. This offers that opportunity. Alternatively, it could be a good opportunity to employ a 4th year/ Masters graduate (with some experience). Whoever it is should have aptitude and care and interest in heritage work. The advert notes 3 years is the minimum qualification, and some experience of working with the NHRA that can grow with the job.
Step by step, what is required for a company to apply:
- For an architectural/ planning firm already on Western Cape Supplier Evidence Bank (WCSEB) and the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Ask Collette of HWC how to apply (details on the document attached)
- Complete tender
- Identify a suitable 4th year/or current staff member with suitable experience and tell them that you may be able to offer a job subject to HWC accepting tender
- For an architectural/ planning firm NOT on Western Cape Supplier Evidence Bank (WCSEB) and the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Ask Collette of HWC how to apply (details on the document attached)
- Complete registrations on (WCSEB) and the Central Supplier Database (CSD) – W.Cape Govt assist with this
- Complete tender
- Identify a suitable 4th year/or current staff member with suitable experience and tell them that you may be able to offer a job subject to HWC accepting tender
It doesn’t matter whether your registration is as an architect or heritage practitioner – both would be suitable entities for sending in a tender.
