Christ Church in Somerset West, which was completed a few years ago, is based on the typology of the centralized church. This is a plan type that has fascinated architects for many centuries and has been explored as a space for worship in many different cultures and places in history. Noero Architects have explored this geometry in several buildings – not all of which were churches – over the last four decades of practice and the talk will show how this research into geometry has influenced the design of Christ Church Somerset West.
