STADIO School of Architecture is seeking candidates to fill three part-time positions. Applicants must hold at least an NQF7 Degree (BTech, or Advanced Diploma) in Architecture or Architectural Technology. Professional registration is preferred, and a minimum of 3 years’ industry experience, covering various project stages from design to execution is required. Teaching experience would be advantageous.

The three modules relating to these positions are as follows:
• Introduction to Sustainable Construction – Module Coordinator and Lecturer (1 Year).
• Literacies for Architectural Practice and Literacies for Spatial Design (combined module) – Lecturer (1 Year)
• Introduction to Spatial and Architectural Design Principles – Lecturer (2months)

Roles and Responsibilities:
Kindly be advised that this is a new programme, and consequently, there is limited and, in some instances, no content available. The successful candidates will be required to develop these materials.

Module Coordinator:
• Preparation/updating (including module review)/authoring/coordination of new and existing material (including lesson plans and teaching materials)
• Maintain the core VLE environment (including student surveys) for the module to ensure parity of content and offering across sites of delivery.
• Preparing/finalising all the assessments for the module.
• Drafting the assessment strategy (in consultation with the Lecturers Forum) and maintaining the Assessment Guideline document
• Managing the external moderation process (pre- and post-assessment).
• Quality assurance of the module content and offering.
• Action module-specific outcomes from student surveys.
• First-level sign-off of the marks for the module and presentation to the next level.
• Conduct success and throughput analysis for the module.
• Promoting industry liaison for the module.
• Finalising the academic calendar for the module.
• Setting the criteria for RPL approval.
• Chair the regular Lecturers’ Forum for the module to ensure collective feedback.
• Have input into the appointment and performance management of staff who will be teaching the module

Lecturer Role:
• Teaching (Face-to-face and Online) and Assessment for two modules: Introduction to Sustainable Construction & Introduction to Spatial and Architectural Design Principles.
• Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials for above-mentioned modules.
• Quality Assurance of teaching and assessment materials
• Student and Academic Support & Success
• Curriculum development, review, and transformation
• Community engagement
• Industry liaison
• Peer liaison
• Institutional involvement
• Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.
• Assist with validation processes of programmes with various governing bodies.
• Attend weekly academic meetings and training when necessary.
