dhk’s internship programme is focused on developing future architects and every year our interns are selected from the best talent coming out of universities across the country.

Our internships provide unique hands-on experience working on live projects in a focused project team and involve all aspects of work in an architectural practice from design and documentation up to and including site work.

We currently offer paid full time positions in our Cape Town and Johannesburg studios to architecture and architectural technology students for periods of 6-12 months.

Our interns are appointed by the end of each year in order to start work in January, so please ensure you apply by October/November at the latest. Applications are collected and processed throughout the course of the year. Due to the number of applications received, you may only receive feedback towards the end of the year.
The applicant will provide support to our studio during the production pipeline.

These responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Initial setup of scenes in preparation for production work.
  • Basic modelling tasks.
  • Placing 3D assets.
  • Placing 2D assets in post-production.
  • Prepping, organising and updating our photo and asset library.
  • Support artists in any specific tasks that are related to image production.

Whilst we will not be providing continuous one on one tutoring, interns will be able to witness live the challenges of artist collaboration and image production, as well as experience the specifics that come with working on large scale, complex architectural projects and competitions.
